EMERALD Sponsored Data Transformation Ontology Workshop

5th-9th November, 2007 @ EBI, Hinxton, Cambridge, UK

 

Overview

In November 2007, EBI will be hosting a workshop to discuss the various approaches used in the transformation of biomedical data with a view to furthering work being undertaken in collaboration with the Ontology for Biomedical Investigations (OBI). Specifically the areas will include:

  • Algorithmic approaches
  • Tools and software
  • Statistical methods
  • Procedural approaches

Examples of applications include:

 

  • Preprocessing
  • Classification
  • Clustering
  • Normalisation

Attendance Information
Attendee Funding Mechanism

There is limited funding available for those members invited to attend which will support the cost of:

  • Flights
  • Airport transfers by public transport
  • Accommodation in the UK
  • Partial meal allowance (this will be calculated based on the remaining budget after total cost of flights and accommodation is accounted for)

Note: Those eligible will be required to retain receipts for later reimbursement.

Accommodation

Accommodation will be reserved at the Travelodge Cambridge Central (link below), however, attendees will need to pay the bill on check-out and claim this back - details of how to claim back expenses will be made available soon.

Internet Access

There will be wi-fi accounts for everyone that is able to connect. There may also be limited physical wired connections in the meeting room.

Travel to EBI During Workshop

We have arranged for transport to pick you up from the Travelodge Cambridge each morning of the workshop and take you to EBI and to drop you off on the evening (except for Friday). Please be in reception for 9:00am for collection (9:30 on monday morning).

Lunch at EBI

There are two canteens at EBI which will be pointed out to you. We are arranging for a lunch voucher for each of the days of the workshop which can be used to pay for your lunch. The vouchers will be handed out on Monday.
